Couch to Cafe

I do love my skinny jeans but during the week when I’m up and down off the floor with my toddler, stealing a 20minute nap on the couch with my newborn or running around town having coffee and play dates, they aren’t always the most comfortable or practical option.  Given that it is still arctic in Melbourne however, pants, jumpers and scarfs are still required so I’ve been searching for a happy medium. Items that look as polished as skinny jeans but feel like my pyjamas.

Today I’ve put together 2 complete looks that feel (and look) just as good on the couch as they do in a cafe. Outfits that you can lounge around in at home (or drink wine in your bed in) and not be caught off guard if someone pops over unexpectedly or if you have to quickly run out (to get more wine ;)).

You could go down the ‘Sports Luxe’ path and achieve the same outcome but today I’m avoiding the spandex and going for more of the chunky knits, leather accents, cotton harem pants and soft denim. We want flattering but not fitted, comfortable but not sloppy, and simple but not boring. Pair the basic elements with your socks and uggs at home then throw on some easy accessories and cool shoes to head out the door. Easy.
