Catching up with my girlfriends over coffee is one of my favourite things to do. Unfortunately it doesn’t happen as nearly as often as id like these days so lets go on a virtual coffee date.
If we were having coffee I would wear my new ¾ length red knit (as above). Its from GAP and is the perfect weight for cool spring mornings but slightly warmer days.
If we were having coffee I’d order a LARGE skinny latte and eagerly watch the waitress until the coffee in her hands was mine. Long stretches of sleep are still a distant memory in my world at the moment and coffee is my daily companion. I’m trying to be patient as I know Alexander is still very young (10 weeks), but with a very active toddler AND an infant to entertain all day, a full nights sleep can’t come soon enough.
If we were having coffee I would want to know all about your life. Your kids, your family, your partner, your job, your holiday, your plans. My world is so insular right now that anything unrelated to my kids is fascinating. That is until I work them back into the conversation 3 minutes later. Sorry about that!!!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you that I love my blog. I’m trying to stick to a regular posting schedule of every Wednesday and Sunday night (try being the key word here as I post this on Thursday…), I want to build some consistency and have a plan that I can work around. Type A personality right here. I am loving the little side projects that have come up through networking on social media and I hope I can continue to grow The Mummy Style Files.
If we were having coffee I probably would have handed one of my kids to you by now so that I could be with whichever one wants something from me. It’s a constant juggling act with 2 kids, especially when we are out in public. My bag could rival Mary Poppins’ bag with the amount of ‘things’ I have in it. Toys, snacks, clothes, crayons, dummies, toddler formula, newborn formula, nappies, Ipad…basically anything that would give me 1 hour with you with minimal interruptions.
If we were having coffee I’d suggest we organize a girls night out. I mean coffee in a kid friendly café is nice and all, but wine. And no kids. Right?
If we were having coffee I would tell you about the TV show I’m obsessed with, UnReal. It’s on the online streaming service, STAN and it is amazing. It’s a fictional series about behind the scenes of a reality TV show like The Bachelor. It follows the producer’s and how they set up scenes for the show and typecast the contestants. Although it is highly dramatized, I can’t help but think there would be many truthful elements in it.
If we were having coffee My time would probably be running out. I’d like to think we got 1-1.5hours and a solid catch up but now its time to head home for naps and food and baths, unfortunately all for the babies. I’d consider getting another coffee to takeaway but the logistics of pushing Alexander in the pram, carrying Hazelle and my handbag PLUS a coffee would deter me. At least I’d be leaving with a date for girls night in my diary :).
