Jumper: Miss Shop for Myer, Skirt: Country Road (similar here), Shoes: Adidas

I think last year was when we really started to see the all white sneaker take over as the ‘shoe to have’. This was mainly due to the strategic relaunch of the Adidas Stan Smiths (the shoes that I am wearing above) and the fact that the designer for Celine, Phoebe Philo was photographed wearing them which played a huge role in making the shoes palatable to women again.

As we keep seeing this silhouette popping up on our fave celebrities, fashion IT girls and on runways around the world, it looks like the trend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

The best part about this style? They go WITH EVERYTHING. I know that some people have a hard time moving past the mental images of ‘tourists’ or ‘corporate women walking to work in the 90s’ but trust me, those stereotypes are long gone! Yes, you can wear them with a dress. Yes, you can wear them with an all black outfit. Yes, you can wear them with your designer duds as well as your everyday activewear.

As you can see above, I have styled them with two different looks and I absolutely love them with the maxi dress or skirt. I also can’t wait to wear them with denim cut off shorts and flowy midi skirts when the weather is warmer.

If you want to opt for a slightly less ‘typical’ shoe or a less athletic one, I love these ones from the following stores. Witchery,  Seed Heritage and Wittner

    • haha I think there are 2 solutions. 1 – be strategic about when and where you wear them or 2. accept that they will get dirty and wear the scuff marks with pride.

I must admit I’m still in camp number 1 but i think i’ll have to move onto camp number 2 soon hehe xx
