What I Wore Wednesday

Jacket: Calvin Klein (similar here), Dress: Forever 21 (website down similar here and here), Boots: Steve Madden (similar here), Bag: Zara

Happy Hump Day People! For the majority of you it is probably Thursday, so I retrospectively hope you had a great Wednesday ;).

As I’ve been saying for a while now, it is gradually getting cooler here in Delhi and after months of almost oppressive heat I am so happy to be able to add a few layers to my outfit every morning. I umm’d and ahh’d about packing boots when we came over to India but I am so glad I decided to throw in these Steve Madden booties at the last minute. To be fair they are probably closer to a hightop sneaker than a full ankle boot, but either way it was fun to pull them on this morning.

I am sure you’ll agree however that the hero of this outfit is the knit dress. I picked it up at Forever 21 and in a sea of crop tops, tasselled kimonos and short rompers ( playsuits), this casual but classy knit really jumped out at me. The figure hugging silhouette¬†indicates that paired with heels this dress could be a knock out for an evening event but given that I don’t have much of a night life here in India, I decided to pair it back with a light wash denim jacket and flat boots.

This dress could be a bit tricky to wear with the horizontal stripes but luckily they hit me in the right places so I gave myself a pass ;). As a rule of thumb though, I’d usually suggest to go with a block coloured body con dress to ensure that it is universally flattering.

No matter what season or what the trends are, a denim jacket will always be in style so if you a looking for a great ‘throw on’ option or trans seasonal jacket, an oversized denim one would be my pick!

Anyway, I hope you are all having a great week and those attending Oaks Day at the Spring Racing Carnival today, I hope you back a winner – equine or otherwise ;). xx
